Mikel López Iturriaga is a food journalist and editor of El Comidista, El País’ food and gastronomy platform, where he explores cooking and food culture through an informative, critical and humorous lens.
Throughout his career, he has contributed to media outlets including Cadena SER, where he was a regular contributor to Hoy por Hoy for several years, and has developed a number of television projects, including El Comidista TV on laSexta and Banana Split, a programme combining music and gastronomy broadcast on La 2 (TVE). Earlier in his career, he also worked for outlets such as Canal+, El País de las Tentaciones, Ya.com and ADN.
His connection with cooking began at home and continued with his training at the Hofmann School. As an author, he has published several cookbooks linked to the world of El Comidista, including Las recetas de El Comidista, La cocina pop de El Comidista and Las 202 mejores recetas de El Comidista.
