Food photography goes far beyond making a dish look appetising: it is a powerful tool for communicating the identity, atmosphere and experience that a restaurant or hotel wants to convey.

In this workshop, we will learn how to train our eye to find each dish’s sweet spot, identify its best angle and use light to create atmosphere and communicate the story we want to tell. We will also explore simple photographic composition techniques and different styling approaches that can transform an image, while covering some of the essential principles and tricks of food styling.

The session will conclude with a hands-on exercise in which we will put all these concepts into practice by photographing real food and experimenting with perspective, lighting, composition and styling.
